Would You Pay for WiFi on a Plane?

by Robert Q Travel -

The latest in WiFi technology is the ability to get online even when you're thousands of feet in the air.

However, as reported by travel.usatoday.com

"Airlines are spending millions of dollars to equip planes with Wi-Fi capability. But only a small percentage of travelers have used the service since it was introduced in 2008, numbers from providers and analysts indicate."

According to industry analysts, the main reason for this is price, which can run travellers up to $14.95 per flight.

Most people with a mobile device would probably browse online for a bit if it was available for free, and certainly business travellers would take advantage.

Truth is though, there's something to be said about finally getting onto the plane and disconnecting from the world for a bit. Suddenly there are no emails to be answered, no calls to take - you're free to watch a movie, read a book or take a nap, guilt-free.

What do you think? Is WiFi access worth $15?
