Of these 5 countries, Tanzania is an important member, mostly because of its long coastline, diverse wildlife and stable political environment. Below is a list of the top ranked safari adventures in Tanzania.

1. Visit to the cradle of Mankind at Olduvai Gorge

This archaeological site has time and again featured in the global headlines for having the oldest samples of remains of modern man. It has been referred as the cradle of mankind for being the place where man originated. Trust me; you would also love to know where the 7 billion earth residents started from.

2. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. It has 3 volcanic cones Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira) that are popular with hikers and mountain climbers. The surrounding scenery that comprises of grasslands, mountain lakes and streams, tropical forests and moorland is enough enticement for any tourist to attempt the climb.

3. Jungle safari into the Serengeti National Park

If you love the wildlife, there is no better place on earth (apart from maybe Maasai Mara on the Kenyan side) than Serengeti National Park. The African 'Big Five' and a host of other animals such as giraffes, gazelles, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, monkeys and baboons and many more exist in the park.

4. Fish in Lake Tanganyika

Lake Tanganyika is the world's second deepest Lake (1,470 meters) after Lake Baikal in Siberia (1,637 meters). It is also the second largest fresh water lake by volume after Lake Victoria. This makes it part of the Great lakes region that comprises of Eastern African countries. Fishing at this lake would be an experience you will never forget. If I were you, I would catch a tilapia fish and have it cooked for supper.

5. Lake Manyara National Park

Another destination that most foreign tourists only here of when in the country is Lake Manyara National Park. You will be surprised to know that this park has the highest concentration of African leopard in the region. The stealthy animal is hard to find, but in this park, you are more likely to see it than the average East African Park.

Tanzania is not yet an expensive tourist destination. However, you are well advised to book early as you are not the only one in the know of this secret. Tourist accommodation facilities are almost always spread thin.
